Discovery Channel’s hit new show Weed Wars turned in a great episode this past week that told the touching story of a family with a child suffering from sever epilepsy turning to Harborside for medical marijuana treatment. Not only did cannabis improve this family’s nightmarish struggles, but did so without the many side-effects that can be expected from other prescription drugs.

Meanwhile the feds are turning up the heat and pursuing every option it can to shut down Harborside. Despite the fact that Harborside is one of the most compliant businesses in the state, they face back taxes and constant audits. It truly is inspiring the risks that the DeAngelos and all of the employees at Harborside take to provide patients with safe and clean medicine.

The show also gives viewers a look into the difficult life of a marijuana cultivator as one of the growers on the show has a crop destroyed by mites. When the buds underwent rigorous inspection at the dispensary it was rejected for the damage that the insects did. This demonstrates two important things: 1. only close attention and care can allow you to get rid of pests and insects before the problem gets out of control and 2. Dispensaries have a high standard for their bud, a standard that is not found on the streets. Shutting down the dispensaries will not only cause medical patients to break the law to attain their medicine, but will almost certainly lead to lesser quality and potentially dangerous cannabis. Perhaps the fed should think about how ludicrous their plot to allow medical marijuana to continue while shutting down all of the dispensaries is.
